2016, November 16:
The 10th anniversary of the Italian LTER network will be marked with a conference in Mantova, Italy, on November 16th, with the title: “10 years old… and demonstrating them: Results and perspectives of LTER-Italy” –— Poster of Conference (.pdf) -
2015, October 27-30:
The fourth in IMBER's IMBIZO series will be held at the Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia and Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS) in Trieste, Italy, from 27-30 October 2015. The topic of 2015 meeting is: Marine and human systems: Addressing multiple scales and multiple stressors. The research on: “Plankton response in post regime shift conditions: the Gulf of Trieste, North Adriatic Sea case study”, based on C1-LTER time-series station, will be presented at workshop 4: From regime shifts to novel systems evaluating the social-ecological implications of lasting ecosystem changes for resource management. -
2015, August 26:
An exceptional decrease in dissolved oxygen in the waters of the Gulf of Trieste. An exceptional lack of oxygen (.pdf) -
2014, June 21:
LTER-Gulf of Trieste Time series participates to Ocean Sampling Day (OSD) on June 21, 2014. Ocean Sampling Day will bring together more than 100 science teams around the world to sample at more than 180 sampling sites, and hopefully thousands of citizen scientists like you to take measurements of your local water. The goal is to create the biggest data set in marine research that has ever been taken on one single day, like a huge snapshot of the world's oceans -
2013, October:
Zooplankton time-series data of the biological time-series station C1-LTER have been just published in the 2010/2011 ICES Zooplankton Status Report. The Working Group on Zooplankton Ecology (WGZE) has given priority to producing summary reports on zooplankton activities in the ICES Area based on the time-series obtained from national monitoring programmes. The last five of these reports are available here. -
2013, September:
During the XXI A.I.O.L. Congress, a number of oral presentations and posters where focused or involved C1-LTER time-series station. (Link to the abstracts) -
2013, September 23-26:
OGS will organize in collaboration with the University of Trieste, the WWF - Marine Protected Area of Miramare and the CNR-ISMAR of Trieste, the XXI Congress of the Italian Association of Oceanology and Limnology (AIOL), which will be supported by ENVEUROPE-LIFE Project. Several contributions will be based on Long Term Ecosystem Research.
The Congress will take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Ud, Italy). -
2013, April 9-10:
In the next days, the Division of Oceanography of OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale) will host the almost “traditional” stage in oceanography and marine biology dedicated to the students of the Vasa International School” of Gävle (Sweden). The Swedish students partecipate to an exchange program, which has been already organized for several years, with some scientific high schools of the city of Trieste, and this year they will be hosted by Liceo Scientifico Oberdan, Trieste.
